However, as much as I love the fast pace, sometimes it is nice to slow down.

Not long ago I posted about a workshop that I had attended.  After coming back, I really wanted the chance to practice what I had learned.  And I knew I wanted more time than what the typical wedding usually allows.. so I teamed up with some other amazing vendors in the area to get some photos to showcase everyone’s talent.

We held the shoot at the clubhouse at Heritage Isle, and my friend and former bride Stephanie modeled for us.  Jessica Fadden with Bangz Salon did an amazing job on her hair and makeup!  The gowns came from L.A. Bridal in Viera, and Patti at Buds, Etc. made all 3 bouquets.

I titled this post “Drawing with Light” because that is actually what the word “photography” means.  But I really wanted to work on how I see and use light when I shoot.  Several times during this session I forced myself to shoot in lighting situations that, if given the choice, I would usually avoid.  It was really good to break out of my comfort zone, and I am so happy with the results!  All of these images were shot with only natural light, and there was limited photoshop done to most.

I really hope I was able to do this gown justice.. it was just stunning.

And Patti did such a beautiful job on the bouquets!

The room that these were done in was a large ballroom.  It would be really pretty for a reception, but I never would have considered it for this type of portrait.  However, there were some big windows, and the sun was shining through them…

There were some fake trees along the wall.  For this one, I was literally shooting through one of the trees.

I LOVED the way that Jessica did her hair!  I’ve seen some pretty hairstyles on brides, but I really think this might be my favorite.

I thought this dress was so unique!
