For me, there are two different styles when it comes to photographing babies. There’s the more “posed” look – i.e., putting a baby in a basket. Then there is more of a “lifestyle” look, which is more capturing life as it happens. While there is nothing more precious than a naked sleeping baby with a big bow on her head, I have to say that I really love shooting lifestyle sessions. There are some moments of our day that can seem so mundane, but years from now we treasure! Things like baths, feeding times, etc can be such sweet times. I love getting to photograph the interactions of families during those times.
So I was thrilled when Anya and I started talking about the twins’ 8 month session! She had some great ideas. And I loved seeing the babies again – they are getting so big! It has been so much fun to watch them over the past 8 months.
Silly Collin Is this kid gonna be a heartbreaker or what?!
Anya mentioned that she wanted some pictures of her and Matt in the pool with Collin and Brenna, as that is something they have done a lot of this summer. When I got to their house, Anya asked me if I was going to get in the water with them – of course! It never occurred to me not to. Just don’t tell my husband that I brought my camera in with me
I have NEVER seen a baby blow bubbles like this! It was hysterical!
Watch out, Michael Phelps. I have never seen such good swimmers so young!
I think this is my favorite from the day
A few weeks before our session, I saw a picture that Anya had posted on facebook of the twins taking a bath like this.. and I knew then that we had to do it for our session! I especially love the last one – such a sweet moment.
They have a good nighttime routine: bath, book, bottle, bed.
Thank you guys so much! You have such a beautiful family, and it has been an honor to be a part of your first year
